Yes, there are a few basic guesthouses, tents, and dharamshalas available in Kedarnath, but accommodations are limited and tend to get booked quickly, especially during the pilgrimage season.
There is no strict dress code, but it is advised to dress modestly. Warm clothing is recommended due to the cold weather, and footwear should be comfortable for trekking.
Kedarnath Trek is a 16 km trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath. You can also opt for ponies or palkis (palanquins) for the trek. The trek is steep and demanding, so make sure you're prepared.
Badrinath is known for the Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is one of the 108 Divya Desams (holy temples of Lord Vishnu) and one of the four Char Dham pilgrimage sites. The temple is located at an altitude of 3,133 meters (10,279 feet).
The ideal time to visit Badrinath is from May to October, when the temple remains open. The temple is closed in winter due to heavy snowfall, from November to April.
Mobile network coverage is available in Badrinath, but it can be intermittent due to the mountainous terrain. It’s best to check your network connectivity before embarking on the trip.
